10Finally. This is the culmination of what the 3.x ruleset should have been. Well done Paizo!

9Reviewing this game on the date of Gary Gygax's death. This version of the game solidified its role as the defacto standard of roleplaying games. Despite being imperfect by today's standards, it set the stage for the conversation about what roleplaying games should be.

7A decent update and the version I started playing with. However, it still lacked a lot of the flexibility or revolutionary nature of the first or third editions of the game.

6I strongly disagree with the direction they went with D&D 4th. It slims down everything to the point where roleplaying takes a back seat to mechanics. There's been a big fight about this amongst the D&D fans. Maybe it will all work out.

9Detractors may say the game is overly complex. They may also say it's hard to learn and know all the rules. In my opinion, the changes made have brought the game into the modern era of roleplaying games. I has a huge amount of replayability and flexibility for different play styles. This will probably remain my defacto D&D rules system for the next decade, even after 4th edition comes out.
